Belgrade Business International Case Competition is officially open

 

April the 2nd 2014, Belgrade – Belgrade Business International Case Competition has been officially opened at the Faculty of Organizational sciences. Teams from 12 of the world’s universities will compete within the BBICC by solving a real business challenge, and afterwards they will be presenting their solutions, on Sunday April the 6th.

The speakers at the opening ceremony were Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, PhD Slobodan Stupar, then the President of the Council of the Faculty of Organizational sciences, PhD Aleksandar Markovic, and the Managing Director of BBICC, PhD Vesna Damnjanovic. Also, present at the event were the partners and friend companies of BBICC.   

During the opening PhD Stupar wished for a nice stay in Serbia to our guest studentsand a successful competition to the organizers.

PhD Marković emphasized the significance of FOS as a leading educational institution that connects education and economy in this way. It is his grand pleasure that thi is the second time that FOS is the host of an international competition.

During her speech, the managing director of BBICC, PhD Vesna Damnjanovic said: ‘’ We are very happy that the students from the prestige universities all over the world are in Belgrade, Serbia as well because the leading companies in Serbia, have understood the significance of BBICC as an international competition that supports the ideas of the most talented students.’’

The FOS students’ team will have a double role, as well as competitors they will also be hosts, and there will also be competing 11 teams from international universities. Among the contestants are: California University – Berkley, Australian universities Melbourne and Queensland, Canadian universities Simon Fraser and McGill, last year’s winner National University of Singapore and Thammasat University that won the second place, also European teams – Copenhagen Business School, BI Norwegian Business School, Maastricht University and University of Porto.

Students will present their solutions on the last day of the competition, two times in front of judges who are the managers and consultants of the leading companies in Serbia. From the 12 solutions the judges will choose the best three. These prestigious competition FOS organized because of the great organization of last year’s competition, and the overall success that FOS students have on similar international competitions.
